Whether riding a horse or riding a wave, there's no mistaking sunny, fresh-faced Kate Bosworth. An award-winning equestrian who grew up in San Francisco and on the East Coast, she answered her first-ever movie casting call at 14 for the role in
The Horse Whisperer that ended up going to Scarlett Johansson, but did land a part, that of the best friend. After taking some time off, she went on to star in some teen-oriented flicks (
Remember the Titans,
Blue Crush) and some edgier movies (
Rules of Attraction,
Wonderland) and has put off going to Princeton to act. Her biggest role to date is that of Lois Lane in
Superman Returns.
